PERIODICALS

Magazines and newspapers

Browse thousands of items from the 1940s ("physique" magazines) and 1950s (The Ladder, ONE, Mattachine Review) to the 21st century (Philadelphia Gay News, The Advocate, Curve, Lesbian Connection, London Gay Times, Out, Poz and XY, to name a few).  The collection also contains a certain amount of erotica, past and present.

The newspapers and magazines include many titles published in the tri-state area, among them Au Courant, Labyrinth, Center City, Drum, The Weekly Philadelphia Gayzette, Tell-a-Woman, New Gay Life, The Network, Letters from Camp Rehoboth and Alive and Kicking.

WHERE TO FIND THEM

Recent unrestricted periodicals can be viewed downstairs in the Community Center's Library during regular Library hours.  Back issues and age-restricted materials are in the Archives, and require an appointment.  If you have questions about specific archival holdings, email us.

Although periodicals do not circulate, photocopying is available.
